Match Pitch & Practice Facility Renovations at Lady Hawkins’ School

Verde Cricket, in collaboration with our trusted installers at Cover Solutions, recently completed a full-scale renovation of the cricket facilities at Lady Hawkins’ School in Herefordshire.

The school is deeply committed to providing students with enriching experiences both inside and outside the classroom — and sport plays a major role in that vision. Their cricket programme has a proud tradition of participating in county tournaments and friendly matches with neighbouring schools. Now, they’ve taken a significant step forward to elevate their game.

As part of the upgrade, Verde Cricket supplied and installed two of our ECB-approved systems: the Test Match and Premier System.

Triple-Bay Practice Facility Renovation

The school’s triple-bay practice facility received a major upgrade using our Test Match system. This included the installation of AP10 shock pads, designed to reduce surface indentation and better distribute impact from the ball. On top of this, we laid our Super Verde Wilton synthetic turf, which ensures consistent moisture control and outstanding durability — crucial for maintaining high-quality practice conditions year-round.

We also added Verde Prime Green surrounds, clearly defining the batting and bowling ends and giving the area a clean, professional appearance. The resilient, tightly tufted surface of Verde Prime Green is ideal for heavy use and also reduces maintenance needs.

To complete the transformation, brand-new cages and nets were installed, creating a top-tier training environment for players of all levels.

New Premier System Match Pitch

In addition to the practice facility, a new match pitch was installed using our exclusive Premier System. This layered construction features the AP10 Shock Pad and the Premier Pad — a product exclusive to Verde Sports — both laid over a carefully prepared aggregate base.

The Premier Pad is designed to provide consistent pace and bounce, ideal for developing cricketers. Manufactured and quality-checked in-house, each pad meets our rigorous standards to ensure long-term performance and player satisfaction.

This new match pitch complements the school’s main square, offering a low-maintenance, high-quality surface that’s playable throughout the academic year — giving all students, across year groups, a chance to play and develop their skills.
