TOUGH DAY AT ROUND 2 OF THE BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS

REVO BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS – R2 – LYNG – 23rd April 2023

The second round of the Revo British Motocross Championships took the team down and across to Norfolk. The famous Cadders Hill circuit was in prime condition for Round 2.

PRO CLASS:

JAKE MILLWARD:

QUALIFICATION:

Jake soon put a quick time on the board putting him pole position. He would stay at the top of the leader board till the final minutes where he just missed out on first place by .18 of a second.

PRO RACE 1:

Jake didn’t get the best of starts coming round the first turn in 10th place. He soon found his flow and started making passes. Part way through the race trying to make a pass for 7th place he lost the front end and went down. Picking himself back up in 16th place he got back on the charge and managed to pull through to 8th place at the finish.

PRO RACE 2:

Another not so great start in race two saw Jake exit the first turn in around 13th . He soon put his head down and started making his way through, just before the midway point of the race he found himself up to 8th place. With a red flag then being shown Jake would finish the race in 8th place.

OVERALL:

P8-P8 for eighth overall. Not the best of days results wise for Jake but showed great speed out on track. Still sitting nicely in the championship.

Quote From Jake Millward:

Speed was there all weekend just poor starts and crashes letting me down yet again. Ready to get back behind that gate and prove myself. Thanks to everyone behind me.

BAILEY JOHNSTON:

QUALIFICATION:

Bailey soon found his rhythm around the track putting himself in to 14th place with his first attempt. He struggled to improve on this time and this is where he would finish the session.

PRO RACE 1:

Bailey got an average start in Race 1 putting himself in 14th place at the end of lap 1. Bailey was having a great ride moving himself up to 11th place, until a big crash would towards the end of the race would see him DNF.

PRO RACE 2:

Unfortunately we would not see Bailey start Race 2 after his crash in the first Race.

OVERALL:

Wasn’t the best of days for Bailey results wise. But I am sure we will soon see him back where we know he can be.

Quote From Bailey Johnston:

Happy with my riding in race 1. Was sitting in p11 catching up couple guys in front until few minutes left on the clock, came out of a corner but cross rutted and ended up into a fence going up a jump. Ended up with concussion and damage to my stomach muscles. I’ll heal up and be back stronger than ever for the next one.

QUOTE FROM TEAM MANAGER, ADRIAN KIRK:

Not the best of days overall for the Team results wise. We now have a couple of weeks off racing and I am sure we will be back at the sharp end at the next round. Hopefully Bailey makes a speedy recovery and it’s not too lang before we see him back out training and working hard on the bike.
