SOLID WEEKEND AT ROUND 3 OF THE MX NATIONALS

MX NATIONALS – R3 – LYNG – 29th May 2022

This weekend saw the team back over to the famous Cadders Hill circuit, Lyng. With a mix of weather conditions we were all set for a day of racing.

PRO CLASS:

JAKE MILLWARD:

QUALIFICATION:

Jake soon found his groove around the fast choppy circuit, putting himself at the top of the leaderboard with his first attempt. As the session went on Jake started to drop down the leader board slightly, finding himself down in fourth place. With the timed session coming to an end Jake went for another quick lap, which paid off moving up to Second place at the finish.

PRO RACE 1:

Average jump out of the gate in Race one for Jake putting him in seventh place at the end of the opening Lap. Quickly getting his head down and started to make passes moving himself up the field to Fith place. Staying consistent throughout the second half of the race this is where Jake would be positioned at the Checkered flag.

PRO RACE 2:

Much better jump out of the gate in race two for Jake until getting knocked off balance going around turn one. This meant Jake lost a lot of momentum moving through the fast sweeping turns going up the hill for the first time. Jake found himself down in Tenth place at the end of lap one. Jake again showed great strength and determination moving his way up the leaderboard into fifth place. Jake made a slight mistake on the penultimate corner of the final lap loosing a place, going through the checkered flag in sixth place.

OVERALL:

P5-P6, 5th Overall. As solid day for Jake with a lot of positives to take. We now have a couple of weeks off from the two championships now so will be putting in the hard work to be back stronger in a couple of weeks time.

QUOTE FROM JAKE MILLWARD:

Started the day well with P2 in qualifying, The track was very fast and choppy. Overall for the day I got P5. Two consistent rides although not where I want to be in the pack. Two weeks off now to get some good bike time in and make improvements ready for Blaxhall.

QUOTE FROM TEAM MANAGER, ADRIAN KIRK:

A steady day, still some work to do. Definitely heading in the right direction.
