R5. British Championships - Hawkstone Park - 18th June 2023

REVO BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS – R5 – HAWKSTONE PARK – 18^th June 2023 

The fifth round of the British Championships took the Team down to the Iconic Hawkstone Park circuit.

 

The championship hadn’t been there for a few years so it was great to be back; the track was in great shape and everything was set up for a good day’s racing for all.

 

BAILEY JOHNSTON: 

 

QUALIFICATION: 

Bailey soon found his flow around the sandy circuit and managed to get a solid lap on the board early in the session. Despite a few other attempts, he struggled to improve on this and would end the session in 13th ^place, marking a good solid start to the day.

 

MX2 RACE 1: 

A fantastic start for Bailey exiting the turn in first place. Finding his flow at the sharp end he dropped a few places, but was running in a solid P7 until the closing stages. Unfortunately, a few mistakes cost Bailey a top-ten finish and he would cross the line in eleventh Place.

 

MX2 RACE 2: 

Another Holeshot for Bailey saw him exit the turn in first place. A few mistakes in the first half of the race saw him drop down the 14^th place and settling into a good rhythm around the technical circuit, this is where we would place at the finish.

 

OVERALL:

P11-P14 = 12^th Overall. A solid day for Bailey, with his starts definitely on point.

Definitely some great progress made this weekend by Bailey. Hopefully we can carry on making more progress.
