R8. British Championships - Landrake - 12th September 2022

Verde Racing News | 12/09/2022

TOUGH END TO THE SEASON AT ROUND  8 OF THE BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS

REVO BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS – R8 – Landrake – 11th SEPTEMBER 2022

This weekend saw the team travel down to Landrake, Cornwall. After bad weather for most of the week, we were pleasantly surprised at how great the track was looking for the final round of the Championship.

PRO MX2:

BAILEY JOHNSTON:

QUALIFICATION:

Qualification for the MX2 class was the first session of the day and the track was in perfect condition. The ruts started to form nicely as the session went on. Bailey was looking smooth and was flowing nicely around the track; putting his quickest time on the board at his second attempt. This would leave him in 16th place at the chequered flag.

MX2 RACE 1:

The start of race one didn’t go to plan fair Bailey, having a tumble on the sighting lap left him a little battered and bruised. Off the start, Bailey found himself in and around the middle of the pack. After settling in to 18th place, Bailey managed to move himself up the leader board late on and found himself in 17th place at the finish.

MX2 RACE 2:

After a bit of a debate, Bailey decided to head out for race two despite being a little sore from the tumble in race one. Another mid pack start for Bailey saw him settle into 16th place but a fall late on saw him land on his already sore hip and would end his day.

OVERALL:

P17-DNF = P19 Overall. Not the way Bailey or the team wanted to finish the year but still a lot of positives to take. This was Baileys first year in the Pro Class and has had some good solid results and has managed to score points in most of the races throughout the year.

QUOTE FROM TEAM MANAGER, ADRIAN KIRK:

Not the way we wanted to end, but Bailey still gave 100%. Bailey has done the team proud over the last few rounds being the sole rider as a result of injuries, representing the team and our sponsors.

FROM THE TEAM:

Everyone at Verde Sports Racing would like to thank all of our sponsors and everyone who helps us throughout the year, especially with the challenging year we have had. Thank You.
