Battersea Park Refurbishment After 15 Years

The project involved the refurbishment of the existing three-lane cricket practice facility using Verde Sports’ ECB Approved Premier System. As part of the works, the original surfacing was removed and the existing base was carefully inspected, levelled and infilled where necessary to restore it to the required installation standard. The facility was then upgraded with three new ECB-approved practice surfaces, each incorporating Verde’s exclusive Premier Pad system to deliver a high-performance playing surface suitable for cricketers of all ages and abilities.

To further enhance longevity and performance, the batting and bowling ends of all three lanes were reinforced with 10mm rubber inserts, providing additional durability in the areas subject to the highest levels of wear. This improvement will help maintain consistent playing characteristics and extend the lifespan of the facility.

The Premier Pad system offers an excellent alternative training environment when weather conditions limit the preparation or use of natural turf wickets, while also significantly reducing ongoing maintenance requirements. The refurbishment ensures that the facility can accommodate increased levels of community use throughout the cricket season, maximising participation and access to the game.
