Brand New Match Pitch Vernon Carus CC

Vernon Carus Cricket Club has taken a major step forward in its facilities with the installation of a brand-new Premier Match Pitch, delivered by Verde Cricket and expertly installed by LFP Environmental, accredited specialists in sports turf solutions.

This marks a significant enhancement for the club, providing a high-quality non-turf pitch that supports both training and match play. Players can now benefit from a top-tier surface at the club’s ground—helping to strengthen cricket provision and increase opportunities for participation.

The project featured Verde’s Super Verde Cricket Surfacing, measuring 30m x 2.74m. This ECB-compliant surface is designed with moisture control technology, making it highly durable and suitable for year-round use. The non-turf match pitch offers consistent bounce and improved playability for all age groups, while also being receptive to both spin and seam bowling—replicating the feel of a natural wicket and is part of Verde Sports ECB approved premier system.

The Premier system selected by the club includes Verde’s exclusive Premier Pad, which ensures a high-performance surface ideal for both training and competitive matches. This solution significantly reduces grounds maintenance, offering a reliable alternative when weather conditions disrupt turf wicket preparations, and helps maximise usage of the playing surface throughout the cricket season.

With support from LFP Environmental—known for their work with Premier League and Championship football clubs—the club now benefits from tailored sports pitch management and expert guidance to further develop its cricket offering.
